A historical tale with beautiful art. There is deception, betrayal, extreme violence, and more. It follows the story of the powerful, political, Choi family. The patriarch of the house is cruel, power hungry, and self-absorbed. He would do anything to build his political presence and to protect his image. The three children of the house have a strained relationship with him. The middle child is repeatedly abused by him for something he could not control, like his birth. Although this story is highly disturbing, it is an interesting read that tugs on all of the emotions.
